Gemeinhardt Conservatory FlutesHeadjoints

Incorporating the most advanced innovations in design and construction, the Gemeinhardt headjoint series offers flutists a variety of tone and response enhancements to suit the preference of players from moderate to advanced ability. Crafted by skilled artisans, our headjoints promise outstanding performance when paired with our flutes.

Gemeinhardt's "J1" headjoint, standard on most Gemeinhardt flutes, is reminiscent of the original headjoint that Kurt Gemeinhardt brought to the United States. Important innovations have increased the response, without altering the headjoint's rich tone capabilities.

We also offer four other distinctive models, available in solid silver and 9k solid gold. The four solid silver headjoint models are available in either standard wall or custom thin wall. All gold headjoints are available in thin wall only. While each headjoint possesses the general characteristics described, you will need to test each headjoint with your instrument to determine how well it will meet your individual needs.

Whenever you purchase any conservatory or professional model Gemeinhardt flute which has a solid silver headjoint, you may at the time of purchase exchange the headjoint through your Gemeinhardt authorized dealer for any other Gemeinhardt solid silver custom headjoint at no additional cost.

Gemeinhardt Flute Headjoints
Model H1

The "H1" headjoint is the result of recent research focusing on the degree angles of the front and back walls of the embouchure hole. Its ease of response makes it particularly well suited for the beginner yet has a rich dynamic and tonal palette that the professional can explore.

The "J1" headjoint offers the least resistance of any of our headjoints. It provides extremely quick response in the low register while retaining a free-blowing high register.

The "K1" headjoint offers the most resistance and, as a result, provides a sound which projects brilliantly. It's extremely responsive in the low register and lends itself well to soft playing.

Gemeinhardt Flute Headjoints

Model S1

The "S1" headjoint combines brilliance with a rich, dark sound and is capable of superb projection. The response is quick in all registers and extreme dynamic contrasts are readily achievable.
